Degree
What are the Degree and the European Diploma Supplement?
An official degree is issued by the university, certifying the successful completion of an official academic program, valid for academic and professional purposes nationwide, in accordance with current regulations. The official degree is legally valid from the date of certification of the payment for its issuance.
The European Diploma Supplement (SET) aims to provide sufficient information to enhance transparency in higher education degrees across European countries and to facilitate the academic and professional recognition of Spanish graduates, supporting their mobility between universities and labour markets in these countries.
The proof of payment for the issuance of the degree certifies the student's graduate status and grants them all the rights established by current legislation. This document is provided personally to the student when requesting the degree and making the corresponding payment.

Degree and SET Request
- Requirements: To request the degree, all required credits in the Master’s curriculum must be completed.
- Required documentation: A copy of a valid ID.
- The request must be submitted in person at the secretary’s office (check office hours). If unable to do so personally, special procedures should be consulted at the secretary’s office.
- Personal information must be consistent with the details on the valid ID. Any additional diacritical marks (e.g., accents) that do not appear on the ID but are requested to be included in the degree and SET must be specified. These documents will be issued based on these details and cannot be modified afterward.
- The processing fee for both documents (degree and SET) is regulated annually by the Government of Catalonia through the decree on public academic fees. The current fee is €218.15 (more information and available discounts).
- Payment can be made by credit card at the secretary’s office or at a bank branch.
- The proof of payment for the issuance of the degree certifies the student’s graduate status and grants all legally established rights. This document is provided personally upon verification of identity with a valid official document. If unable to collect it personally, special procedures should be consulted at the secretary’s office.
- Processing time: Students who meet all requirements can initiate this process starting two working days after defending the Master’s Thesis (TFM) before the tribunal. Exception: If the TFM is awarded an Excellent grade and nominated for a Special Mention, the ORM will determine the final awards at the conclusion of all defences. Once confirmed, these students may proceed with their degree request.
